Fuel Pump/Sedning unit Replacement
I have searched for Fule Pump replacement and Fuel Pump, and have not found what I need to know.
I was wondering if anyone has the procedures of cutting through the car above the Gas Tank to replace the fuel pump/Sending Unit. I had it done one time before on my other car, but it smelt like gas all the time. I do not think the guy did it right, cause he never rivetted a piece of metal or anything back over it. I was going to do this myself this time, unless you guys think I should just drop my rear end and tank to change it out. I have to change the Sending unit now, cause the gas gauge does not work. Then later I may want to put a bigger Fuel pump in it, when I get to building on the motor.
Any links or suggestions will be great.....thanks
Scott

Suggestion: Drop the tank like it should be done to do the job. Your last experience is exactly why cutting a hole in the body should not be done.
It has been discussed a lot, but I'm not going to tell you how to search for it because I'm in the 95% camp that says cutting a hole in your car for this is just plain stupid. Of course, there's a 5% out there that is just as convinced it's the only way to get to the top of the tank.

I will probably just do that then....drop the tank.
