You can do it take your time one at a time. Go to the hardware store buy a plastic puddey knif grind it down to fit the top half of main bearing and tap the top half out.Be sure to change the oil pump .My two cents Later

I have no reason to poor money into a 305 when I have a 350 that I am building up. Since that wont be ready for another couple months I need to change bearings to get the maro back on the road. thanks for the tips on pulling the bearings. I was hoping they were easy to tap out!! I assume the old ones are easier to get out than the new ones to get in.

If for a couple months, just slap those in and go!

For longevity:
You should really get new main bolts and rod bolts.
You should plastiguage all the bearings.
You should replace the oil pump.

Engine work is like surgery, be very clean.

You have a lot of work ahead of you to get to the bearings, so good luck.
