Numbers on egine? What do they mean?

I was looking for a number stamped on my and found a small protruding part of the block that has two numbers on it. The number on top is V0614C2W and the bottem number is 1CL180305. Can anyone tell me what these two numbers mean or how to find out?
Thanks

The first number is the code for the type of engine, and I don't have a decoder for those but some other people do. The second number tells you that it came out of a car whose VIN had check digit 1, was a 82 model, was built in Van Nuys (probably a F body therefore), and had serial # 180305. Compare it against your VIN and see if it matches. If it does, it's probably your original motor, unless somebody replaced the motor with one whose block was decked, and stamped those numbers in it (not likely, but also not impossible).

C2W isn't a valid engine code. Recheck the number. Sometimes they look like something else. There should only be letters in the code.

Based on the above post about being an 82 I can guess at

CFW = 1982 305 4bbl 145hp (LG4)
