Speedometer Question

I am switching rear ends with my dad's Camaro. I have an 84 Camaro with 16" rims. Mine has a rear end from an 89 Trans Am (Automatic, 3.27, 16" rims). He has a 92 Camaro (Manual 5-Speed, 3.42, 16" rims). My question is about the speedometer gears. I never switched mine to match my rear end so it is way off. First off, are the manual and automatic speedometer gears different, or are they interchangable? Also, I believe the electronic driven speedometers and the cable driven speedometers have different style gears, right? So I figured for mine I'll just get a speedo gear for say an 85 IROC with 3.42 gears and 16" rims. What about my dad's car? I'm having trouble figuring out what will work to make his speedo right. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
