Need some inputs on what parts to get..>>

..I'm working on a complete exhaust swap on my '86 IROC 305TPI, and naturally the one thing that could go bad just had to do so. I snapped a header bolt, so there is a piece left in the pass. side head.
So, basically I'll have to tear down and take the head off to go get it pulled out.
Im considering getting the heads fixed up a little while I have them out, with a 3 angle valve job/valve grinding/guides. I have also been planning on getting a new cam, and that is where I need your recomandations! What cam should I get, and do I also "need" to get rocker arms, push rods or anything..?
Im also planning on replacing the timing chain etc and the water pump while Im at it down there.

So, any inputs on what to get, what I should do while Im at it and so on? I'm not considering new heads at this time though!

This is my setup otherwise:
305TPI
Edelbrock JHC TES
Catco 3" cat
Edelbrock RPM series Cat-back
SLP runners
Ported Plenum
Airfoil
K&N's
!MAF
Gutted Airbox

I would very much appreciate ANY inputs as the car is sitting and I REALLY need to get it back together as none of this (except the exhaust) was planned - and it is our only car.

Thanks A LOT!

Ken

Because of it being a 305 some of the more popular cams will be to much, literally. If this is budgeted look into the crane compucams, maybe the 2030 or 2040 depending on where you want your rpms to be at. I would recommend against TO much work to your heads, for a 305 there are a well known set of aftermarket heads for $600ish. But with a 1.94 intake valve cut in, and a 3 angle valve job you should feel the difference on the stockers. Good luck!

Thanks man,
What heads are you thinking about?
Im going to check at the local shop tomorrow how much it will be to fix the stockers up, and will then consider where to go from there.

Any other inputs on the cam, specifically?

Thanks,

Ken
