fuel pump question
You know when you first turn the car on the fuel pump makes a buzzing noise to make pressure and then stops.
Well is it meant to continuely make that buzzing noise while the car is running?
Because today i removed all my back trim and carpet to make way for an audio installation, and when i drove it i noticed the fuel pump is making that buzzing noise.
Im not sure if the carpet was muffling the noise so i couldnt hear it before or if i have done something.
I also get a lot more road noise and creaks coming from the back, so maybe the carpet and fluff was just a good sound deadner.

Yep, carpet and padding make a good sound deadener. The buzzing you hear is the pump running, and yes, you probably will hear it more with all that stuff removed from the back. If it is excessively loud, it may be considering failing. Check you fuel pressure, and if all seems well, it probably is.
