would these things effect anything?

I have a 1991 305 TPI. I was looking to get a new 52mm throttle body and new intake runners for my tpi with the addition of the SLP cold air intake and a cut out for my exhaust. Do you think any of these additions would effect the way my car runs or effect the ECM? I am trying to make the car better and I am afraid of screwing it up...any ideas would help. thanks.

throttle body would be a waste, not really sure about the runners, but if you do them, port the plenum too. what do you have for exhaust right now?

I have the crap dynomax, but that will be replaced with borla in about a month. but right now, I am looking at getting super comp headers. Are they worth it? Are they a pain to install or will they mess with my comp? What about the SLP Cold air intake, would that be better than the ram air hood kit? I mean what are my better options and what will screw with the ECM if I do these things. Here is what I am looking to do:

SLP Cold Air Intake
Polish my 48 MM TB
SLP TPI Intake Runners
Hooker Headers Super Comp Long Tube
Exhaust Cut Out
Borla Exhaust

Does anyone have any objections or information on what I should or should not do to this car? My performance shop is telling me its not worth it and I dont trust these a-holes. Thanks

dont go with the long tubes, they will be over kill and they sacfrifice ground clearance, hooker makes a very nice set of shorties, not sure on the part number. i wouldnt be concerned about the exhaust and intake messing up the computer, but you would benefit tuning the car after adding those things. check out the DIY PROM board, it doesnt cost that much to get into compared to buying a chip, and youll be capable of much more then calling the company for another chip when you get something else, so it saves you money in the long run

Just to answer your question, none of the mods you're suggesting will require changing the prom setting...that said, you will ofcourse see advantages to tuning the prom some, both now in the stock state, and also with the mods...but again, you'll be okay with the bolt ons.

Just think in terms of HP vs dollars spent when dealing with bolts ons...although no one came come up with really why a 52mm TB adds HP, it i dyno proven to add HP...but is 200+ bucks worth 5 hp? I don't think so.

Same with long tube headers vs shorties...HP gain on a virually stock engine, wont even tickle your underwear, so go with what wokrs (almost anything is better than exahuast manifolds) and save a few bucks for other things.

so i should go with the hooker shorties? sounds good to me, cheaper...should i get ceramic coated ones or normal? also...what about the SLP cold air intake vs the ram air hood and kit...which would be more beneficial? thanks for the info on tuning...i am very computer literate, so i may get into it myself. and on the SLP intake runners...will they be worth it or not? any one know? thank you all so much.
