fuel pump?
I just swapped a tpi 305 into my trans am .... it ran good for a couple days but the check engine light was coming on... i got code 22... TPS problem....
yesterday it wouldn't start, when i cranked it over every couple times it would run for a second or maybe 2 at the most... and when i hit the acceleator the engine didnt respond at all, like i wasn't even pressing it.... so i pulled the tps connection off and there was water in it.. i blew some air at it with my compressor and tried again... nothing changed... so i replaced the TPS, once again nothing changed, so i assume it's not related to that... now i'm out of ideas and i'm moving on thursday, so somebody please tell me something besides fuel pump :-) ... any other little things it could be? .... i haven't had time yet... but i was going to check to see if it was getting any gas by disconnecting the line... unless somebody has a better idea....
...oh... yeah.. and code 22 also says something about a fuel cutoff relay problem... i read somewhere that our cars don't have one.... but i have no idea....
thanks

If you installed a new tps, double check to see if its adjusted correctly. There is a tech article on it on this site. If you want to check the fuel pump, turn the key and listen for the pump. Should hear a whirr sound from the back of the car. If you don't hear it check your fuses, then the relay. If you do hear it and it won't start check fuel pressure via the schrader valve on your fuel rails. Last ditch is to check and make sure you have spark.

where's the relay and how do i check it?
i tried the valve on the fuel rail and it sort of bubbled out a bit, then i cranked it some more and there was no more pressure...
checked all the fuses in the main fuse box and they were all good.
also.. when i turn the key to the on position i don't hear the fuel pump... altho i've never noticed it before... does it only go when i'm cranking the engine or it's running?

so i checked voltage where the fuel pump plugs in, and it's getting 6.5 volts off one of the wires, .1 volts at another wire, and nothing which has got to be the ground at the third wire when the key in the on position... and i don't hear it running when it's plugged in.... so... unless it's supposed to get more voltage....it's gotta be the pump?

Sounds like the pump to me, the voltage should be 12 v to the pump. Check out this thread, it should have all the info you need:
fuel pump voltage
Let me know if it works out for you.
Good luck
