Need help like....NOW...please
The guy rebuilding my tranny just called me and said my trans is done. I really want to install it saturday when I'm home from school, but I need to order bolts. First flywheel bolts.....the ARP's in Summit and JEGS don't list them by tranny type so can I just get the 7/16 x 1's? Next....torque converter bolts.....there are no ARP's listed for the 700R4....will the ones listed as only GM 10 inch work?? Finally....is it worth it to get the ARP bellhousing studs or just reuse my old bolts?? I need to order these tonight so I can get them overnighted to me.

The regular flex plate bolts will work. The reason they don't list them by trans type is because it doesn't matter what trans you're using, it only matters that it's a SBC crank and a flex plate.
Converter bolts are metric, IIRC they're 10mm. Can't recall the pitch, seems like its 1mm. They have a 15mm head, and are about 25mm long. Stock ones are fine, or use hardened ones with hardened flat washers.
Don't use studs there. You'll deeply regret it while you struggle to get the trans in. Just put the stock bolts back, there's nothing wrong with them.

7/16-24x1" will work for the flex plate, i can't remember the size for the converter, most parts stores or gm dealers stock them. i'd just use grade 8 bolts for the trans to block. i doubt if you get them shipped out since the air lines are down and ups would ship by air most likely. i'd look a little closer to home before i ordered parts from out of state, or request they use priority mail.
