overheating??

overheating??
i was wondering what temp everyone runs at, i run about 220 in town, i have replaced my thermo with a 160* one. no difference. any help would help

your not overheating, thats where the fan kicks on, on a stock car. The fans are controlled by the fan switch which kicks on just below or at 220 F. A lower temp thermo pretty much just delays this action. If you want it to run cooler a new fan switch is in order, other wise its perfectly normal and nothing at all to worry about.

thank you, yeah i was looking at a new fan switch. on at 185 off at 170. so would the fan be running all the time since it wants to run higher?

not all the time, but yeah it would run more thus killing the fan motor faster, there's really no need for it on a stock app. though.

well i might be adding a new cam and/or intake in the future. not sure yet.
