Well, I'm trying to find a good place to mount my Carter electric fuel pump under my T/A. The only spot that looks like an easy place to mount the bracket is on the torque arm. Would this be a bad idea? Or would it work alright? Where have you guys put yours?

well, in the instructions it says not to mount it more than 24" above the fuel pickup. On these cars that means almost anywhere except the roof LOL. So would I be ok mounting it in my engine compartment? Maybe where my old air box used to be? I know that electric pumps are nice because they are pushers instead of pullers, but I'm not looking to get anything crazy for power, so I think I would be ok in that aspect.
u want the pump as close to the gas tank as possible, try mounting it to the flat area in front of the axle, where the back of the rear seat rests, that is a perfect spot because that is where all the fuel lines connect from the sending unit in the tank to the rest of the lines.

When I bought my car, a carter street pump was mounted right where that filter or whatever that is beside the pump in the above picture. Maybe a little bit lower.
