90 IROC or 92 Z-28
I know that this can probably turn into a personal preference thing, but my question is, all things considered, which is a better car performance wise. the '89-'90 IROC (are there any big differences between the two?) or the '92 Z-28? I hope to get some good feedback going as I'm looking to buy a new third-gen camaro and these two have stood out in the stock 350 grouping. If I'm wrong about that please correct. Thank You.

The '92 is SLIGHTLY faster. Nothing you would notice.
The big difference is looks. IMHO an 80's IROC with stock interior and 91/92 GFX/spoiler looks awesome

'89 is MAF, '90-92 speed density.
I'd take a look at a '90 IROC though, just because it was only made part way through the year model, before the switch to "Z28" only.

Thank You. I think Im leaning towards the 89 IROC for my next purchase. As far as MAF vs Speed Density, I keep hearing that MAF is easier to work with and lends toward power adding, anyone have any insight as far as thats concerned?

maf takes to it more easily because it is a direct measurement, A quick hint to what has more power, look @ the camshaft specs in the tech data section. The 89' will be the easier build up, for a couple hundred you can also get an adjustable maf.
Iroc
If you are looking for a car to keep for a long time, I would go with an Iroc, just personal preference, I bought an 88 Iroc, I like the looks of the Irocs myself, and from a collectability standpoint I think the Irocs will be worth a little more in the long run simply because they were only made for a few years. Plus if I am not mistaken I believe the Irocs got some stiffer suspension pieces etc...
As far as MAF and speed density is concerned, well,,,,that is a touchy subject on here
I did not let that dictate what car I wanted, I found an 88 with very low miles so I grabbed it while I could, I did not care about the car being MAF. As far as performance between the 2, well there are plenty of MAF and speed density cars on this site that are plenty fast, both can be made to run good,,,,, just a little different approach between the two. I say if you have your eye on an Iroc that you like, go for it, who cares if its MAF or not, just buy it and have some fun with it.
