406; need internal selection advice

well my 400 is getting .030 over right now. the thing im really wondering about is(and yes i did use the search function,i know someone would have said it...) is using the stock crank or not. the guy said it needs to be turned($75) should i just buy a new one or stick with it since this is only going to be a hard street engine probably just hitting 6k.

now for the rods.
it has stock 5.56?ithinkthatsright? rods. what i really want to know is if i go 5.7 will i really have to grind rod bolts? i've never actually read where people use them and didnt have to grind for cam clearance. And since im going .030 over, i probably got all of ONE piston to choose from for my application!!, so the 5.7s would prob let me get some nice flat-tops. and the brand names help me to pin point too.please

these are the main things that im focusing on in my build, unfortunatly they are the first things i need to get started. thanks for any help

the stock crank turned is fine, just make sure they put a decent fillet in the journals. chcuk the stock rods and go with the 5.7's. also go with a d shaped dish in the pistons, this gives the 400 a quench area, makes itmore efficient.

my 79 blazer i have i have a stock 2 bolt 400 block with a stock chevy 400 crank, tunred 10 under and nitrated, 5.7 rods with kb hyperturectic pistons and dart sr torquer heads with big valves, running a comp flat hyd 262 high energy cam with 1.6 rockers. this engine makes nice power, it put my heavy blazer in the 14's and it runs on pupm gas. i keep toying with the idea of throwing this engine into a camaro or nova and see what it does in a light car, should be pretty quick.
