PLEASE, CAN ANYONE HELP ME?

well, i just got done installing the edelbrock intake, and there are three openings with bolts i will need to buy, a heater hose fitting, a brass nipple and a blockoff bolt. i read the CHP article where they builtup the camaro, and they said they used a holley fuel pump part # 12-834. i ordered the pump and noticed it had three ports, two of which were open. the old fuel pump has three lines coming out of it. theres a line that runs along the inlet line on the pump, but i dont know what it does, could it be a return line to the tank? would this bother my emissions if installed the holley with only two lines? for some reason CHP says that pump worked on the 87 z. i also broke the metal fuel line to the carb in the process. my car is sitting and i need to get to work, can anyone help me out? thanks

I did a manifond swap on a '85. you should be able to get the nipple off of the old manifold. The large open space on top that goes into the coolant passage can be filled with a brass pipe plug, or an ugly steel pipe plug if you're on a budget. Both of those can be bought from the parts store. I'm not 100% on the fuel pump. I think the 3rd small line on the stock pump is a vent line that goes back to the gas tank. If I read your post right, the Holley pump has 2 ports. If your luck is like mine, you'll notice, after you get the pump on, that the fittings are different on the outlet side of the Holley. The only way I know of to fix this is to buy one of the fuel line kits from Summit for $35 or something like that, or take the pump with you to the parts store when you pick up the plugs, and they'll hook you up with a fitting to go in the pump and run a rubber hose to the carb, ONLY AS A TEMPORARY FIX! Please don't run it like that any longer than you have to, if you decide to do it like that. Also, you would need to cut the metal line close to the carb, to hook the rubber hose up th it.

Sorry that took so long, just thought I's get you the heads-up on the problems I had.

what would be wrong with installing the rubber fuel hose to the inlet on the carb? the guys at autozone told me it would be fine, but i felt that since the line would run alongside the block it would get too hot and could be dangerous. can someone help me on this?
