rpms go way down when releasing the clutch

I was wondering if somebody could help me with the following problem. On my 91 Camaro Z28 TPI manual, whenever I release the clutch the rpms of my engine go way down causing the engine to almost die. I have to play with the clutch and revving high rpms for the engine not to die and the car to continue running. It mostly happens on second gear but it happens on al gears. I know my clutch is worn out but it shouldn't cause the engine to die. Another problem that might be related to it is that after the engine runs hot at some point whenever I step on the gas the car won't rev up, and it will kind of hesitate and act stupid and slowly die on me as I keep stepping on the gas. Could it be the TPS sensor ? I am not getting any codes on SES. Could this problem be related to my clutch?. Maybe the TPS is not giving good signals to the computer when I am releasing the clutch and that causes the car to be so underpowered. The car has been sitting for a long time maybe a couple of years. It has a new distributor and a new ignition control module so it cannot be that as others have suggested. As it cools down the car runs good again. I think it is some sensor. I hope its nothing mechanical. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

if you think maybe the TPS isn't giving good signals why don't you reset it or test it? it could be the module or distributor, new parts doesn't have to equate to good parts. have you tried trouble shootinig, other than pulling codes? is the tune up good? fuel fresh?
