Overheated, electrical? for *** sakes please help me

So i just got done pushing my car (with friends) 2 miles to my house. I was driving and it overheated, now nothing turns over, as in, the starter doesnt click or anything. When i just have the key in the "on" position, my light is on, dash lights come on, and my radio plays. But if i try to draw power, as in, put my windows up, start the car, everything dims completely and nothing happens. Any idea what happened? did i cook some kind of wiring?

Any help please, i know that was kind of garbled as my mind is racing, but if you need more info let me know. Its just like once i try to put a draw on the electrical system, it shuts off.

Edit: A friend tried to help me jump it, it did the same thing when the jumpers were hooked up.

Sounds like you could have fried your battery. You have a volt gauge on the dash right? What does it read?

I used to have an 82 firebird with a 350. I was racing and it did the same thing. Pulled the motor out. took the plugs out. #8 completely filled with water, I cracked the block. Hope ya didn't do it.

Sounds like you have a bad connection somewhere. The overheating could be something totally different.

Start at the battery, follow the power wires ALL the way around. Jiggle and move stuff. Watch the light under your hood to see if you find a bad spot. Go all the way to the starter, alternator, and back to the battery. A loose connection at the battery terminal will cause this, and it could make it die also.

Check any fusible links, etc. Don't forget to check the ground side also.

Good luck man!
