hi intensity lifters/knock sensor?
i've got a crane cam #H-272-2,(216*in.-228*ex. @.050) which i intended to install into a rebuilt 350 that i'll be putting into my pickup in the near future. the engine will be using slightly higher compression than stock and a few other mods., but nothing too extreme, as i'd like to keep it compatible with the stock TBI.
i have placed some calls and have been told that it's borderline whether or not this cam can be used with a stock chip due to possible reduction in vaccum. at TPIS they suggested that i use hi-intensity lifters (bleed down) to restore some vaccum, yet when i called crane they told me it's not a good idea 'cause the lifters can create a vibration which can be read by the knock sensor.
is there anyone out there who's got some personal experience with this?
getting another cam isn't out of the question, but this one's there for me to use, it's brand new and it's paid for.
thanks
