v6 vs v8 torque arm

When I put in my new tranny (700r4), I noticed that the tail housing doesnt provide a spot to put the torque arm adapter. I had to get a v6 tail housing to accomidate the adapter. I have it all setup, will this be sufficient uintil I get an aftermarket one?

The tq. arm and the 700 tail shaft housing is the same on v6 and V8 cars. You don't need anything else. Unless you want an aftermarket tq arm.

The tail housings are not the same, my bracket would not fit the V8 housing, i had to get a v6 housing. The bolt holes did not match.

They are on V6 and V8 fbodies. The reason yours was different is cause the tranny came from some other type of vehicle. That tail shaft housing that has the 3 holes is only used on fbodies.

Not sure, the company buys them 300 at a time from a supplier, so there is no way to tell. I was just wondering if it had to do with the tranny being from a diff car... But, I pulled my v6 housing from a firebird
