My car will run just fine then when I shut it off, sometimes it wont start. It wont do anything. It makes a noise in the rear almost like an in-tank fuel pump, but I have a mechanical and it also makes a click in the drivers front of the engine, right beside the firewall(by the wires) I cant figure it out. What could it be. The starter works fine because I started it from the battery and it worked fine. I had the same problem awile back and I found a switch by my fuse panel that will not allow you to start it if it is switched off. I switched that and it started right up. But now I switched it back and forth a bunch of times and it still wont start, but it just makes those 2 noises. PLEASE HELP. I NEED IT TO DRIVE AND I CAN'T..

try tapping the starter and make sure you dont hit it to hard and break it my starter did that a few days ago and i was stuck tried taking every thing apart to look for the problem then i just got under there and tapped it (the Solenoid) and it worked just fine and turned over, give it a try

Check your grounds, both system and especially engine.

had same problem... 180$ later, new starter.

Yup, It was my starter. Changed it today. That wasn't to fun.
