I cracked a head on my L98

I am new to these boards and I need some advice and help. I just bought an '88 GTA with the 5.7/L98 and I got it for a great price. One problem is I just found out I have a cracked pass. side head and I am new to hotrodding newer/injected engines. I have plenty of experiance with assorted GM muscle cars and just finished my '71 SS 454 El Camino (Which just split the 12 bolt down the middle on my first run with slicks!) Anyways I want to retain the TPI and would like to know my head options/choices (years, ect), where to find the parts and if anyone out there might have a used set they would like to un-load fairly cheap to a new daddy who doesent have much money and dont want to part with my new love. Thanks for everyones time and effort ahead of time.

Check out the classifieds. The beauty of TPI is that you can use any chevrolet production head on the market. Prior to 87 will require the elongation of the center manifold bolt holes, but other than that, any heads you want. I know a guy who has a set of steel L98 heads sitting in his garage. Post your e-mail and I'll get you his e-mail address.

how bad is it cracked? i've welded up a few iron heads that were cracked with good results. there ought to be someone in your area that does cast iron repairs. that is if you don't want to upgrade and replace the heads you have. might want to consider a new bare head from gm.

Sorry about that, My E-mail is: cycobeast@yahoo.com And I did not know that any year would fit. Are there any other mods that will need to be done to fit the TPI to earlier heads?
Thanks,
Denne

Denne- If you want a stock head that will bolt right on my brother still has his stock L-98 heads from his 87 TPI 350 in his garage. I'm sure he'll part with one or both for next to nothing. Decent condition, fully assembled, ready to bolt on. Shoot me an email if you're interested.
