bog/hesitation/near stall
ive had this problem in the past, but now its becoming more noticeable. basically in gear my car idles at a little over 500 rpm. in park it idles at 750 rpm. when i take off after sitting at a stoplight my car hesistates, and the hesitation gets worse the more i step on it. could this be a spark problem? the plugs and wires are all good, but i am jumping a big spark off of the distributor. i noticed the last time i had the distributor out there was a cut in one of the wires heading the four wire harness plug in. ive had a problem with the car starting and wanting to die soon afterwards. and another thing, my choke isnt hooked up. sorry for the long story

I think this could be considered a major contributor to your problem.
Check the cap for cracks, make sure all the plug wires are in and secure on the cap. Also make sure they are routed neatly, not laying on top of each other.
If spark is jupming from the cap, it's not getting (completely anyways) to the plugs, where it should be.
