What should be my next mod?

I was thinking of either getting a Performer Intake or could my engine benefit from a super coil by Accel, I think that's what it is called that allows more spark over 4500 rpms. However my redline is at 5200rpm and the car stops pulling around 4700 rpm. Is this due to the stock coil.
Another thing to consider is that I am off at college and hardly know squat about working on cars. So my brother would be doing this, and I'm sure he would much rather put the ignition part on than an intake, so which should I go for?

i only got a 305 my man, but...i just got the accel super coil and it is a nice little thing. its also fairly cheap, and a cinch to put on. its up to you what to get...just backing the idea that the accel should def. be kept on the option list. its just my 2 sense. later

BTW, my buddy has it in his 87...or is it 88(i can never remember)IROC and he is always smilin about it.

Hey Mark, what are you running in the 1/4

I'd go with the coil first...

I've never been to the track but I have G-Teched it, last time I did it was with 2:73 gears, no cat-back, and a severly slipping tranny (would hang up on 1-2 shift, and flare on 2-3 shift), it ran 15.61 @ 93mph. So I figure I should be in the mid 14 sec. range right now.

Maybe put on an intake. A edelbrock performer or performer RPM, it's not listed on your sig, that would be a good way to pick up some extra horses.

I would for sure go with the intake. As long as all your ignition system components are in good shape, you shouldn't need a better coil with the set-up you have now. The reason the car only pulls to 4700 is because it can't breathe above that. I would bet that the intake could take a good .2 to .3 off your 1/4 times!

Wow, you really think the intake could help that much, if so I am definately going to get that. Which would do you think would be best I was looking at the Performer or Performer RPM, I don't have the summit catalog right here and I thought they differed by the power band. My car really starts to pull around 2600 rpm.
