Idle funny when ac is turned on

Okay to start things off car runs completely fine when the ac is off.

now when I turn it on the engine rpm's will drop when the compressor cycles. sometimes just a bit sometimes quite a bit. the tach needle with jump around a bit more than than actuall engine rpm's are moving as well.

If I drive the car it will run but can have a bad hesitation or even backfire a bit. turn the ac off everthing is fine.

okay I am a complete mental midget. turn out my alt was just low on output. so when the ac and fan would kick on the car would not have enough juice to run the igntion.

Funny thing is the alt was keeping the battery charged and running the headlights and everthing else just fine so it did not cross my mind.

One thing to watch for is a weak battery. The little CS alternators will blow out a diode once the battery gets weak.

yeah I am going to go have the battery load tested but it starts the car great. I think my blower motor may be drawing to much current. the alt makes it alot better but when I have the fan on high and turn the ac on there is still a very big drain on the voltmeter.
