So very very sad...
I head up to college today and my car is going to sit idle for a couple of months. sniff sniff. What all should I do to it so nothing deteriorates when I am gone. It is already very low on gas so I am going to let it run out of gas.

A couple of months is nothing. You don't need to do anything. Don't burn the gas dry. It will destroy your fuel pump. Fill the tank up is usually recommended to prevent condensation for say winter storage. You shouldn't have to do anything.

A gasoline stabilizer such as Sta-bil or AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer is a good idea.
Full tank is a good idea to prevent condensation. Add the stabilizer, fill the tank, run the car enough to get treated fuel throughout the system.
Tires fully inflated. Fresh oil change is helpful to prevent corrosion within the engine. Clothes dryer fabric softener sheets in the interior to keep the critters away.

I find that an ashtray full of mothballs works better than the fabric softener sheets, but you might not like the smell yourself so much. A coffee can of desscant might be good to keep the humidity down inside the car as well.

steel wool in the exhaust and put carpet or cardboard under the tires so they are not sitting on concrete.
