FIRE from TBI unit

My car one day started miss firing and now it wont start....I have changed the distributer and its cap and roter...and still....it seems like it wants to and we almost got it running but still every now and then it shoots the flams out of the TBI. We got it running for a couple sec. but it was really really ruff. Please HELP

I had a clogged cat that was causing fuel to shoot back out of my tbi unit.

Check to make sure you've got all the plug wires connected properly, and that you didn't put the rotor on 180* off, and so on and so forth.
