Need some help ASAP
My Air Conditioning Compressor in my 1984 Camaro Z28 just snapped all sorts of bolts and screws that were around it, now, nothing that was on the engine block or the supports for it, but it just annihilated it-self.... can I take it off or remove the belt and everthing still be ok? Or will I have to get a pully of some sort to replace it, because right now its just itchin to spin of through my hood or into the engine compartment area, and it looks as though it could do some damage. I have a stock V8 305 NON-Serpentine engine. Thanks Guys!

GS,
You should be able to remove the drive belt with no problems. There should be a second belt that drives the power steering pump, so everything else should function normally.
(Sounds like the compressor or clutch locked.)

I'm about 30 mins away from home at work, and didn't know if it was good to drive with it like that. Now I'll just go out and either cut the belt (Which is messed up anyhow)or.... I dunno, cuting it seems the only pheasible thing to do. (Whole AC assembely is messed up anyhow)
Thanks again Vader.
