Replaced the heater core in GTA, still no heat
I replaced the heater core in my GTA yesterday. My defroster blows luke-warm at best, and this is with 60 degree outside air. When I put the heater core back in, the flapper door was open, but when I move the temp selector on my pushbutton heater controls, I don't hear anything move. On my IROC and my Sport Coupe, this stuff is all cable controlled, but on the GTA it seems to be nothing but a bundle of wires coming from behind the heater controls, which means there's a solenoid burried in the heaterbox somewhere, right? This is my first experience with the pushbutton controls and I guess I'm more or less looking for pointers on what to diagnose and troubleshoot. I really don't want to pull the dash apart again unless it's absolutely necessary.

I had a problem like that with my Vette.
Turned out to be the temp door motor.
I found this out by looking down into the air box at the temp door, and seeing if it moved any after changing from max to min / min to max. (mine didn't at the time)
Then I checked to make sure that the motor was getting a signal (voltage) while changing temps (mine did), and from there it was obvious.
The temp door motor on my Vette was geared into the temp door from the bottom, inside the car. I dought it's the same, but who knows.

You probably have a vac line disconected. There are a few vac lines behind the heater controll and a few in the engine compartment. If these arent hooked up the heater door will not open.
