Street Pro Billet Distributor

I just ordered the MSD Street Pro Billet Dist. from Summit for $241 Part#8360. In the description it says that the use of vacuum advance is optional. So now i'm not sure if i got one w/ vacuum advance or mechanical advance. My question is, what is the difference between the two and will either work fine w/ my application? I'm obviously converting to carb and i already have the 6A MSD ignition. Thanks

All 8360's have both vacuum and mechanical advance. When we say optional all we mean is it can be removed and will function with out it. You will set up the mechanical advance first for performance then plug the vacuum in to help with fuel mileage. That is the main function of the vacuum advance, it help under part throttle. Hopefully this helps.

Thanks,

Joe

Thanks a lot, its really nice to have an MSD tech here online helping us out. Just goes to show you how much it is really worth to buy their products.
