EGR HELP!
EGR HELP!
My car is throwing the EGR code, since the car digital EGR control, they is a cluster of Celeniods (3) and thats what controls the pump, so something is ****ed up with that. Is it possible to clean it? I was told by a mechanic I can clean the carbon build up off with carb. cleaner? is that true? The parts guy at Hallet told me I need to replace the whole thing(trying to make a sale??) so whats the deal?
HEY! thanks for all the tech help...I'm dissapointed, and now my truck just got its back window smashed in, so I have nothing to drive thats not throwing a problem at me!! dahh! HELP TELL ME WHAT I CAN DO!!!
What engine do you have? Is it TPI? I have only played with the EGR on a L98. I think there is only one solenoid, mounted to the coil. There is a vacuum tube that goes from the throttle body to the solenoid and another that goes from the solenoid to the EGR valve. There is also an electrical connector on the solenoid. First things I would check are that the tubes and connector are all properly connected. I don't know much about the carbuereted or TBI ones though. Hope that helps a little.
I have a 92 RS 3.1L V6, MPFI. It is three celeniods, I have already cleaned them (carb cleaner) and it works fine now, you car is the vacumn opperated EGR, my car is "digital" opperated EGR..
