350 tbi?or not
ok im sorry if this doesnt help but ill give it a whirl. I got a 350 motor with the casting number 14093638 and looked it up on mortec and told me 87-9- 350. The motor also has 14102193 heads sitting on it. Can anyone tell me if this would be a good swap for my 305 tbi and maybe give me a little more info about it please.
thanx

The block is a standard roller cam, 1-piece RMS design. It could be 4-bolt on the three center mains, but is likely a 2-bolt. Unless you see an "010" on the casting, its' probably a standard iron casting with minimal additional alloy.
The heads ('193s) are "swirlie" heads, which might make a decent emergency wheel chock if you pull the rocker studs. With the studs, they have a handy place to attach an anchor chain with only a nut. They really have little use on top of a block, except to keep out debris and contamination while you prepare a real set of heads.
