i rebuilt my engine a short while ago and was wondering who many miles i should wait before going dragracing. i was thinking 1000

A street engine should be considered broken in after 500 miles but then a street engine is expected to last at least 100,000 miles. My drag engine had 1/2 an hour of run time before I raced it.

I was drag racing mine just about immediatly after getting it tuned up and running. The thing to remember is that you really don't want to run it at a constant pace for a long time (like taking a 45 min. highway trip) You shouldn't have a lot of problems drag racing it.
