Am I Overheating or What???
I just got a '86 Camaro 2.8L, I don't know the history of the car. It runs fine, but the temp lite comes on after 5 mins of idling. The fan comes on after 15 mins of idling. I replaced the t-stat w/180 deg. I see no problem, coolant is flowing. The temp coolant & rad. switch are new. I know the temp lite coming on isn't normal, but when should it come on & when should the fan come on. I think I'm going to have to put in gauge.

If you can take the rad cap off to check flow without coolant spewing for about a whole city block, then it's not overheating. Sounds like you need a new sending unit for the gauge.
The fan should come on at around 230°, the light at about 260°.
