cant find serpentine belt!!!
i have an 88 355 camaro with a/c and a.i.r system and i want to take them both out. but i cant until i find the right serpentine belt and if i remove those parts i'll need a serpentine idler pulley. i've gone to every autoparts store and every highperformance shop within a 20 mile radius...or so, and no one can help me. its no use talking to parts stores all you get is..."what year is it..., what model is it...". it doesnt matter what year it is its not a stock size. a friend of mine has what i need on his car and he has a gates belt and the idler pulley that i need too. but he got it from the same parts stores that cant seem to help me. i've been running around for 2 days. the part # for the gates belt is k060672 (which still doesnt help with the idiot parts people) and you cant order this belt or pulley on the gates website so can anyone help me PLEASE!!

www.partsamerica.com Enter the p/n in the "Search" field.
If you have a Kragen/Shucks/Checker or Advance Auto in your area, they are associated with them and can get it for you if you take the p/n into the store.

Removing just the AIR system: See tech articles section on this board for the information you need. Short version: 96.5" belt with slightly altered belt routing.
Removing both (without using an A/C delete pulley): Do a search in the TBI section, I beleive, for someone who figured out a way to do that. Short version: he got a generic 3" 6-groove idler pulley to replace the factory smooth idler pulley (to allow the FRONT of the serp. belt to ride on it) and then got a different length belt (don't recall the length) and then used a highly modified belt routing scheme.

well fella's i appreciate your help but i just got it figured out today. me and my friend who had the set up that i wanted went to advanced down where he lives where people actually know what they're doing. we FINALLY got what we needed after 3 trips back there. we had to do alittle cutting at the idler pulley to get it to work but the belt and the idler pulley work just fine now. the routing wasnt hard to figure out. thanx 4 the input. if anyone else out there is wanting to do this and need help let me know and i'll give you all my part #'s and stuff 2 do it.
