headlight motor problems in a 88 formula

I turn on my headlights and they don't go up. Other problem that seem to be related is my left blinker stop working with headlights on. My headlight motors seem to click in the down park position. Both motors are funtional..... before this I would turn the switch off and they would wait a sec then go down...... Is there a relay for the headlights or maygbe this is a bad ground because my left blinker indicator stays on with the headlights on.

Any help is appreciated
Kenny

sounds like the headligh relay/module may be bad. its a black box that says "guide" on it attatched to the firewall on the drivers side. mine has its problems sometimes too. when the headlights dont go up i have to open the hood and hit the damn thing with my hand, then the lights go up.

another problems is the motors themselves have plastic ***** inside that tend to turn into powder over time. when that happens the headlight moves, but it struggles. i had that problem too. opened the motor up, put in steel ball bearings in place of the plastic ones. never a problem again.

well the headlight motors dont have relays they have a control module.it looks like this

top down solutions sell a reconditioned unit for $30. it could be a ground. but i dont know where the ground points are located so i cant help you with that. if you want to check the ground find a ground wire and measure resistance between that point and ground shouldnt be more than a few ohms. anyway good luck.

edit: the module is located next to the brake booster
