eveyone seems to talk about the est on the tpi or tbi cars. what do i have to disconnect on an 86 with an lg4? is there an est and where would it be located? or do i just disconnect the esc and where is that located on an 86 lg4 ccc carb? some other post had mentioned that the carbed cars might not have an est. any help would be greatly apprectiated.

as i recall its near the blower box on the firewall, tan wire with a plug that connects it to itself, disconnect that plug. set your timing, reconnect it. yes its normal for your SES light to be on then,

The CC q-jet connector is a flat 4-wire connector that comes out the bottom of the distributor body. It goes to the harness behind the engine on the firewall. It's typically difficult to locate unless you get your face down in there and dig around a little.
