werid vaccum question
there is a line that goes from the mysteryball under the cruise control inside the driver side fender, it meets up with a line that comes off of the cruise unit, it goes up the driver side fender and along the fire wall to the back of the intake, one line goes into the back of the intake and one is just sitting there, this is where my vaccum leak is. where does this line go? can any one please help me?

If the engine is a TPI it meets at a 3 way check valve. One vacume line off the check valve goes to the manifold, one back the the "orb" of power (thats what it is known on this board as) and the other I think goes to the HVAC system.

Not sure if same, but I would think it would be close. Do you still have the vacume diaghram under the hood of the car?
Gotcha covered. Someone messed up your vacuum hoses just a little. Here's how it's SUPPOSED to be:
Start from the large vacuum fitting that screws into the intake manifold just behind the TBI unit.
Off that vacuum fitting there should be a short (8") length of fairly large diameter vacuum hose going to a small vacuum check valve (shaped like the tip of a giant crayon). Sits right next to the distributor on the pass. side just swingin' in the breeze. The large diameter vacuum hose attaches to the fitting on the pointy "tip" of the check valve.
Off the back/side of that check valve are 2 smaller vacuum fittings.
One fitting is attached to the small plastic vacuum hard line that goes into the main wiring harness loom (and ultimately up under the dash to move your HVAC stuff).
The other fitting is attached to a rubber vacuum hose that snakes along the firewall to the driver's side, behind the power brake booster, and then forward along the inner fender. When it gets to about where the charcoal canister is there is a vacuum "T"
Off the T one vacuum line goes to the cruise control and the other to the "mystery ball" (which is nothing more than a vacuum reservoir).
Sounds like to me someone broke/lost the factory vacuum check valve up by the distributor and then tried to jerry-rig it from there. Get a new one and put it back the way the factory intended.
