Synthetic blend

I heard somewhere that a synthetic blend is just a combo of regular oil and synthetic, and that you could make your own by adding one qt of synthetic to 4 qts of regular oil. True or false?

you are right as long as the synthetic you choose is compatiable with conventional oil. But why run an synthetic blend when you can run full synthetic

Interesting...I've never been much of a fan of synthetic blend oil anyway. It seems to me to be a waste of money. 100% synthetic is a different story. I've never thought of mixing them until now, but I'll just stick to conventional. If my engine were new, I'd pay for the full synthetic.
