1> I GOT MY CAR BACK!!! 2> How to fix the steering column.
1. Great news, my car was recovered 2 days ago. The theives took all of my stero equipment, and broke the steering column. Thats the only damage. I got off lucky. THANKS to all that help'd me look.
2. Like I said, the column was busted. I work a NAPA, so I was able to buy a new collar, and new gear for the ingition switch. I've never tackeled anything past the horn in a column before. How difficult is it? I'm very mechanically incline, so I know I'll figure out things as I go, I'm just hope'n someone has experiance with this that can guide me through some of the rough spots I may incounter. Any and all help appreciated.

Great news! Glad you got the car back. Hook up a kill switch, ok?
Anyways, its not bad. You need (well... should have) a puller for the wheel and a tool to help you remove the lockplate once the wheel is off. I have made my own steering wheel puller, and I have gotten lockplates off without the tool for that, but putting it back on can be a PITA without a tool. Theres a snapring that holds it in place, and a large spring behind it that will fight you. Once you get past that, its pretty straightforward, just not much space to work in. The pin for the lockplate may be missing or some various parts damaged/missing once you get in there to repair it all. Be prepared to come across some other damaged stuff. Probably within a day, aside of parts you dont have, you can fix it.

Yea, I'm set with the puller, and I've done the snap ring before with a screwdriver and buddy combo. I figure I'd be buying extra stuff once I dig in there, because the clicker for the high beams don't work. The rod going accross the column works, just the plastic connecting the lever to the rod must be messed up. Wish me luck.
Do a search for rbuck+posterior. It has
tips on GM tilt column repair. I use 8-32x1"
screws and a small dent puller to pull the
pivot pins, but you can buy a special tool to
pull them from Snap-On and other tool suppliers.
