i have a constant tapping under my egr valve on my intake, it goes up and down with the rpm of the engine. ive tried adjusting serveral times the rockers but to no avail, is there a specific gap or compression of each spring at TDC? or is there a special way to adjust rockers exonly an example)with 1 at TDC adjust 1,3,6,8 then turn crank and adjust 2,4,5,7 with 2 TDC. and i have tried several times the spin the rod until you feel just a slight amount of resistance, then another turn 3/4, then tried 1/4 and 1/2 still the same happend. i had removed everything from intake, header (left side only), head, rockers, pushrods, but did not remove the valve springs nor did i touch them. i also put the rods in the same order they came out as well as rockers.

 

any help would be appreciated. or anything that it could potentially be...

I have the same sound. I think maybe it's an injector.

Is yours really loud? Mine sounds like a light rocker tap. Maybe the EGR valve.

 

it was a rocker that was loose it was really loud (my car is carb'd)
