under hood temp

ok just noticed something and wandered if it is good or had any effect. When I put my headers on I got pissed off and took a hammer to the a/c box. I left my fan on though and planned on taking it out and getting some sheet metal to cover the area. But tonight after driving it for awhile I decided to run the fan motor. it seemed that the under hood temp was considerably cooler from the fan pulling down cooler air from the vents. Is it just me or am I just being dumb?

So the hammer removed the air box . This is just an idea maybe due to the more air around the motor from the box being removed helpet . The headders make it run cooler to no? . Is it only when the fan is on that it drops . If so I just may use that hammer trick

seems to be just when the fan is on. Yeah, lol, the hammer is a must have for the a/c delete kit
