Is this possible?

I got a suggestion that I put a 454 crank into my 350 block. I was wondering if this was possible? And if so, what work would it take to do this? Also, would it actually be worth it, or should I just put the 400 crank in? I dont have either crank, so that doesnt come into play yet. I am willing to buy whichever one would be the best.

No it is not possible to put a big block crank into a small block. There's a considerable difference in size, in every dimension. Including a few minor details like the spacing between main bearings.

You can however put a 400 crank into a 350 block, with a certain amount of machine work and hassle. That's what we all used to do a long time ago, back when stock 400 cranks were plentiful, and aftermarket 383 ones didn't yet exist. Nowadays, it makes more sense to just buy the right crank and be done with it. It actualyl comes out cheaper in the end, especially if you're buying a crank anyway, and even more especially if you have to pay somebody to fit it into your block for you. Which I'm guessing, since you're sufficiently unfamiliar with motors that you're asking a question like this, would be the case.

Its not that I dont know about engines its just that I was askinga more reliable source. I didnt think it would fit, but I wanted to make sure. IS it worth investing in a forged crank if i am only going to try to make around 500 hp at the wheels? Or would it be better to just get forged rods instead? Or Both?

500HP at the wheels is going to take about 600HP at the crank which will definately need all forged internals if you plan on having some reliability.

Thanks, seeing as i am going to be running turbos I guess that I had better spend the extra money and get all forged internals to be on the safe side. With the forged internals it would be safe to run like 150shot of nitrous along with 2 turbos running like 6 or so psi?

So long as you build your motor to take it.

Going to need some fair sized dish pistons or big chamber heads and set the ring gap for the nos so nothing goes boom on you

I plan on building the best motor I can with my budget. Ive built like 3 other engines to just drive around on, and everyone of them has blown. So now I am going to build a more of a street/strip car instead of all street.
