Head question
Hi there I'm currently rebuilding a 1979 L48 350 engine for my '83 camaro and i'm looking for a set of heads to replace the stock ones. I live in the U.K and prices over here are high so i have been looking at the U.S ebay site for heads to keep the price down and have found these.
I have found these and was wondering if these would give me better performance than my existing heads. Any advice would really be helpful guys as i am a novice when it comes engine building. Also if they are not a good choice then recommendations would be great. Thanks again people. Craig

The "193 heads are not "vortec" heads.
The 193 is a "swirl port" head generally from a TBI motor.
Not really a performance head.
The picture is a pic of a vortec head, but that is not what the seller is offering. (misrepresentation). Don;t bother getting these. Vortec heads are found on 96 to 2000 350 L-31 trucks. The casting numbers end in 062 or 906. No other heads are the same. Vortec heads make good power. More than TBI heads and more than the heads you have now.
Vortec heads require a Vortec style intake manifold.
You can buy vortec heads and modified high lift vortec heads and vortec heads including a vortec intake manifold. from

A good choice among others.
