the air pump/smog pump is located directly under the a/c compressor. when mine failed it made a loud screeching, scracthing, scraping noise. either replaced it or delete it.

ok good to know thanks, to i need to add a pulley or anything when i remove the pump?

i read the faq on this but mine looks nothing like that. my manifolds are just normal. i am guessing it was a half delete or something lol. if i get a good camera i'll try and snap pics.

thanks again

If your serpintine, no pulley needed - the FAQ shows how to reroute a slightly longer belt to delete the pump - you could probably even leave the pump there, just no belt until you get the time to actually remove it.
