Here is the situation.

I am buying a bunch of parts off a friend in the next few weeks. I have the option to go 383 or stay 350. The parts themself will almost take up my budget. I will still need to build my Th350 and install it also.

Here are some of the parts:

AFR 190's 68cc
Comp xr282hr-12 ground on a small base circle
Speed Demon 750 vs carb
Crane Gold 1.5 rr's
Scat 5.7 I-beam rods
Speedpro Power forged flattop Pistons # L2491f30 0.30 over
Weiand x-cerlerator inatke #7546

0.30 over 1pc main seal block
new timing chan
new rr lifter
misc parts

The parts that I already have are in my sig.

My question is, How would the L98 I have with the AFR heads and the comp cam with one of the intakes and carb run.

I did a compression test on my L98 and I got 170-165 on all cylinders. It should be ok to build up.

All I need to do the 383 is new rings, bearings, new 3.75 crank and have it all balanced. This dosent seem like much, but I wont have much $$ left after buying the parts and building the trans.

I can always save the block, rods and pistons and do the 383 build later. The heads and cam would swap out also.

Would my motor with the afr heads and comp cam get me down to say around 12.50's in the 1/4. Along with my other mods?
