I had the shop try and install this Edelbrock fuel pump but they couldn't get it to fit on my small block 305 (carb). Apparentlty both the fittings and the actual size of the pump get in the way of the motor mount. Anyone have any ideas as to what replacement pump I could get that will work and will give me good flow?

You will need the bottom plate kit that feeds the fuel in throu the bottom of the pump. The side fuel fittings are plugged with threaded pipe plugs.
Minor grinding of the frame/motormount may be nessessary to clear the pump body.
Bottom Plate
One of these Seals-It fuel pump gaskets goes a long way to keeping engine oil and heat off the back of the fuel pump.
If the fuel system absorbs too much heat the fuel boils in the fuel line or in the carb bowl. Boiling bubbley fuel will not flow thru the pump. (Vapour Lock)
