xe256 questions

Curious as to what the owners of this cam think of it. I'm planning on putting 1 in my 1986 305 lg4 motor along with ported 416 heads.

Comp recomended this cam to me but, i was thinking a little smaller may be better because, i'll be running stock internals so it won't see that many revs....

Anyways just wondering on if there was a good increase in power, still good low end, enough vaccum, slightly lopey stuff like that.

I had it in an 85 Caprice's LG4 (DIY ported heads, Performer intake, Edel. 600 cfm carb, Mallory HEI). It worked great for me. It's not really that high of a revving cam, or so it seemed to me...

Fine on vacuum (never put a gauge on it, but everything functioned still). Good on power. Slight lope.

I have run a best time of 13.99 @ 97mph with the cam in my car. I don't notice any lope, just a very smooth powerband, and 15-16 psi vacuum.

I use that cam in my 327. Not much lope at all. Peaked at 5200 on the dyno. I made 230rwhp with a set of modified but not ported 267 heads and performer egr intake, quadrajet, hedman shorties.

Yah i'm hoping for times close to this providing i don't have traction issues then it'll probably be worse, i'm expecting low 14s/ high 13s on my setup *crosses fingers* no matter what it'll be an improvement.
