im not new to this board but my old name (piester) was messed up so i had to restart.
i may be buying a 1984 trans am. has a 305 4bbl on it. carb is a computer controlled quadrajet. has a few problems though. didnt want to start then when it did it ran extremly rough , had to floor it just to keep it running. and then it died and flooded on the next attempt to start it. any ideas?

Either stuck closed choke or stuck open float.
