I have an 85 IROC 305 TPI and am going to replace the fuel pump in the tank .Can i get the job done just lowering the exhaust or do i need to drop the rear end also? Any tips from someone that has done it before? Thanks in advance

if you use the search feature theres probably a lot of info about it on this board. I think you have to take the rear out though to drop the tank.

Don't have to take it completely out, but it's easier that way. Take the shocks off the rear and lower it with a jack. Pull the springs out too. That will get it low enough to snake the tank out. Make sure it's empty! It's a pain trying to snake the tank in/out with more than a splash of gas in it

Watch out for the rear brake line when you drop the rear-end down. I had to disconnect mine. No plug handy so all my fluid drained out. Then had to remove and bleed master cyl, bleeds the brakes, etc..
