putting vortec heads on lo3

I bought a set of bare pro topline vortec heads, and am changing the springs to comp's 977. I have never done a head swap before and I was wondering if I will need any new parts besides retainers. Should I get new valves, or do I have too? Can I use the old valve locks?
I am also putting 1.6 rockers on. Can I use the old guideplates with these heads? Sorry for all the questions, but I have to do this swap completely over a weekend and I dont want anything to pop up and bite me in the ***.

1.94 1.5 valves.
Accept 1.55 springs
7/16 studs

Ive read something about longer valves and roller motors, and that the vortecs dont like them. So would my motor have those, and should I get new ones? If I could find someone that has already put these heads together and ran them for a while, Id love to talk to them.

to put vortec heads on a lo3 u need to get a new intake manifold made for vortec heads, i don't believe the stock manifold will accept those heads...
