L98 con/main bearings

hey guys i will hopefully be getting a low mile l98 long block in the next few weeks and seeing as im on a budget and the engine is low mile i was just gonna leakdown it to determine top end condition and replace the main and conrod bearings assuming there are no spun or gouged. which federal mogul series is good for this application max horsepower will be 375-400 and no more than 5500 rpm mostly just a cruiser with the ocassional strip visit, thanks i tried serching but figured i would just flat out ask thanks again guys engine has approx 60-70 k on it

ACL bearings are where it's at. Polish and mic the crank while it's apart to make sure it doesn't need a grind and be sure to check the clearances before you put it together.

something a machine should do. You chuck the crank in a lathe and use different abrasive belts to polish the journals and get rid of any slight imperfections.

It should run you about $80 for them to clean and mag the crank to make sure it isn't cracked, check it for straight, mic the journals and them polish it.
